| an ode to "the burg" the burg, the burg, how i do dothly do miss thee. ucm, campus upon which i frolicked ever so blissfully. oh, how i miss the time spent apartmenting with fenae, and the local urologist's advertisement: RUPNOK? monday night pizza, wendy's wednesdays with the katmandongols -- what other word with this could rhyme but mongrels? -- keeping a quotebook filled with forward coarticulations, which bring such joy and exuberant jubilation! english professors who invent words like "betterly," andrea once asked us to pick up some cheese, cheddarly; john and nina and steve, my "burg family" they seem, always enjoying my childlike enjoyment of ice cream. roadtrips with merideth, getting side-swiped by hiland dairy, times were sometimes hard and sometimes scary, other times were fun and easy and an utter delight, livin' it up in the burg for 4 years -- yep, that was all right. | | |
| well, since i last posted probably a lot of stuff has happened but not a whole lot stands out. i was back with the fam for a couple weeks recently, mostly babysitting maggie after her wisdom teeth extraction. she is fun when she is on vicodin. she said that the first time she took vicodin she knew it was working when everything dad said was hilarious. while i was in the jeff city/ashland/columbia area, i got to see my brothers play a couple ball games. ryan and brett both stole home on wild pitches in one game. that was fun to watch. let's see what else has happened? oh, a few weeks ago we went to a royals game and brett caught a foul ball. that was pretty sweet. hey, here's something exciting. today is my cousin gerry's bday. happy bday to him. he's the big 1-6. whoa buddy. | | |
